The housing projects in Libreville, Gabon, Africa



Housing developments have been in high demand in Gabon for quite an extended period of time. This has been confirmed by the local media as well as in discussions Green Planet Development Services had with government officials.

Green Planet engaged with approved partners in Gabon to find suitable ground for a development of affordable quality housing in an area close to the capital, Libreville.

Factors considered were reliable public transport, access roads, convenience shopping and general quality of living.

A sizable area had to be found, because the planned plot size was 500m2 on average. This size plot fitted the financial model which considers the required amenities for ideal tenants.


The Proposal

Green Planet Development Services is engaging with various stake holders in order to address the shortage of houses in Gabon. Options are investigated to implement different construction methods, in order to accommodate a wide spectrum of housing demands in this west African country.

Land remains a major stumbling block in Gabon, and various options for suitable land are being investigated.

A possibility to address the cost of housing as well as the urgency to get a large housing project delivered in a short space of time, is to implement the Dynamic Shell Housing system in Gabon.
